Books For Africa

Meet Our Volunteers: November 8-9, 2008

Many thanks to John, Ben, Wave, Emily F, Brittany, Tracy, Tara, Kaitlin, Coleen, Arianna, Peter, Susanna, Mary, Bridget, Andrew, Gwen, Hannah, Matthew, Emily B, Dylan, and Shannon -- all amazing workers who volunteered several hours of their time over the weekend! The result? Over 4000 children’s books were labeled, transported to a different location, and sorted by genre. Asante sana!

Many thanks to the MOM’s Club of Morristown, NJ for holding a SHARE Book Drive in December 2008. Hundreds of quality donated books were collected! The MOM’s Club generously contributed to the shipping costs down to Tanzania as well.

Books For Africa SHARE collected 8000+ donated children’s books for the African girls in the SHARE program. The books were shipped to Books for Africa, in Minnesota, to be added to a larger container of books bound for Bukoba, Tanzania. Expected arrival date: May 2009.
